Tired legs…

Back from this weeks club ride and it was tough today.  Surprisingly, yesterdays food, consisting of a pie and a curry, wasn’t the perfect preparation for over 70 miles in the saddle.

It is a strange feeling riding along feeling that your muscles just can’t do any work.  It is my biggest concern when I am away making sure I eat enough to keep going.  I will be burning roughly 4000-4500 calories per day cycling. The recommended daily amount of calories per day for a man is 2500 meaning I will have to eat twice as much as is normally recommended per day, all whilst cooking on a gas stove!

Unfortunately my current route planning has disappeared in to internet land with the closing down of a website I had my plans stored on.  Whilst this is a bit of a pain it does allow me to re-review the route and see if  there are any changes I want to make.

A short note tonight however finally, congratulations to both Juan Antonio Flecha of Team Sky and Bobbie Traksel of Vacansoleil for their Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne wins this weekend.  I have not been able to see a single minute of the action yet but did manage to keep up to date with the race on Saturday via Internet text updates whilst at the football!  Youtube beckons tonight I think!!!

Total miles this week – 150

Month to date – 405

Year to date – 950

With time progressing I am now going to start raising some money so please visit my Just Giving page and donate anything you want. Every little really pushes me to the target.

Thanks for reading.
